Beautiful evening in the harbour with a nice chop on the water , fishing started off ok with plenty of school bass and a Gilt head bream being caught , but as the evening progressed the wind dropped right off leaving the harbour like a mill pond which affected the fishing as it completely died . Well done Callum for catching a school bass . Lovely social evening and we welcomed our new member Pete Evans . Next match Swanage Pier Wednesday 10th September fishing from 6 – 10.30 pm .

Breezy westerly wind blowing across the beach hopes we’re high for a cod as few have been turning up lately and the sea looked perfect for one unfortunately we had mainly pout , 37 caught between the three of us with one strap conger and a dogfish . Wind dropped right off as the evening progressed on a very mild evening with no rain and we were all very warm as we were kept busy running up and down the beach returning fish in a close competition , Lovely evening had by all including Ted the dog .

Compared to last weeks match it was a fish bonanza. 29 whiting , 6 strap congers , two bass one of 43cm and two small eyed rays between five of us . Fishing the flood then the ebb over the reef on a dry chilly evening fishing was hectic from the start with whiting in numbers and at a reasonable length. Two small eyed rays which was nice to see and the usual eels made up the haul . Well done to everyone who came and they were rewarded with everyone catching over two metres .

1 Thornback Ray 3lb 8 ozs , 1 undulate ray , 2 sole , 1 bass and 4 pout caught between three of us . Fishing under a new moon on a warm autumn evening with the beach packed the fishing started off well with a small undulate ray on the first cast , fishing was slow for a while then Nick caught a reasonable thornback ray 3lb 8 oz , then there was a little burst of fish resulting in sole , bass , pout and a dropped ray in the surf , as the evening progressed the waves got bigger with 2m waves breaking on too the beach .Don’t forget Dean cup this Saturday 19th. Have a great wk end.
Hi All hope you had a good week end , results from Knoll beach .
A couple of our regulars could not make it which was a shame as it was a good busy night with everyone catching . 15 school bass, 3 smoothound pups , and 8 eels caught between us . Fishing a flood tide then the ebb down it was a busy mild autumn evening . We were getting Bites from the off mainly school bass and the odd smoothound , as darkness arrived so did the strap congers . Next match is at Solent Meads on the 17th October.
Results from the shore match at Southbourne sep 6th 2024. 1 M Wright 672 C Mackenzie 0 Sadly only two fished as the forecast was not great and some had other commitments. Fishing a flood tide on slightly better conditions than forecast Chris got into the first fish , with a decent bend in his rod Chris had what looked like a good ray on only to lose it in the surf close in , that was it for the evening for Chris , I was fortunate enough to catch. Small (small ) eyed ray and a bass . Next match is at Branksome beach on the 19th September 7- 10.30pm . See you all there .
